Band GSM

I recently purchased a Nokia 3250 and is a tri-band GSM phone, I was wondering wherethe would work in the U.S.?
I bought the phone in India and just wondering if it might work in the U.S.. Most GSM operators in the U.S. are Cingular and T-Mobile, so I was thinking from I was a tri-band phone. Any help would be appreciated
If your tri-band, then it probably supports the 900 MHz band (GSM 900), 1800 MHz (GSM 1800) and 1900 MHz (GSM 1900). T-Mobile and Cingular operates on GSM 1900 (GSM 850, but the phone does this). Thus, in theory, the phone is fine. Whether or not really work depends on the SIM card and operator has a service network. Of course, put a TMobile or Cingular SIM in the phone and go to the U.S. to work. If you have a SIM card network operator in India, so if it works or not depends on roaming agreements – consult your network operator. Enjoy!
