Instead of paying per text on my own cell phone, I was thinking of getting a prepaid phone for my international texting, since I will be texting internationally alot pretty soon. Is there a plan or a prepaid texting card you can buy for that?

I’m an old guy and am supposed to have very good vision, but still I have serious trouble reading any LCD display in daylight. I’ve yet to find any reviews that rate the daylight readability of cell phone displays. So, if there are such reviews, I’d like to know where to find them. Otherwise, I’d be happy knowing about similiar personal experiences that might help me find the right cell phone. I’m not looking for anything but basic features.

I can’t get into my cell phone voice mail because my #1 key doesn’t work and I need to type in the #1 for my password. So, is there a way to check my voice mail from another phone such as my home phone or another cell phone?

What Happens to an old cell phone after the number is transferred to a new cell phone?

I’m purchasing a new cell phone and I’m planning on transferring my old number to the new phone. However, a friend of mine is interested in buying the old phone from me and before I do any of this I’d like to know what will happen to the old phone’s number if I transfer it to my new phone. Will he have to transfer his number to that phone, or will it keep the number it already has regardless of me transferring it to the new phone?

What cell phone is a good economical one that syncs to and allows you to run everything through the computer?

This includes making phone calls, sms (texting), emailing, transferring ring tones and media to/from the computer/cell phone. I’d want something that would let you do all this via computer interface. What cell phone make & model and program is good for this? Thank you in advance for your advice.

I need a new cell phone and I need one that is easier to text on than the Sony Ericsson I have. All I do is talk and text on my phone. I occasionally check email but its a pain on the cell  I have and don’t have the patience to always work with it.  I need a phone that makes it easy for me to do these things. Preferably a phone that flips open to a key pad.

Can any cell phone be used with Cingular/ATT or can I only buy phones from them?
