I have an iPaq PDA which is great and now want to upgrade to something which is also a telephone. Be more convenient to have one instead of 2 Dev?i?. I've been looking online and on ebay and saw mainly two categories for them. Smartphones and PDAs. I wonder is there really a difference and if so what is it? Thanks!

This is my first, and probably only, review of a cell phone, of the Palm Pixi, filmed with a Palm Pixi. Quite an impressive smartphone on a budget, and though the keypad has small buttons, the keypad itself is well built and has good feedback, also the WebOS interface is very intuitive and easy to use for people who may not be familiar with Smartphones. And the audiolag is due to the video recorded from the phone, though the audio was fine on the phone. I would have edited it, but Sony Vegas loves to be a bitch about nearly every video codec known to man, this program seems to have a very difficult time with MPEG4 and DIVX for some weird reason, 2 heavily used video formats.

This cool phone has a multimedia touchscreen and a slide out QWERTY keyboard.  This phone functions as a camera phone, a portable media player, a GPS navigator, and a savvy Internet client with email, messaging, web browsing and Wi-Fi connectivity.

This Pre has a 3.1 inch touchscreen with a 320×480 HVGA liquid crystal display.  The screen also automatically sets itself to portrait or landscape depending on how you hold the phone. This phone will definitely give Apple a good competitor to its iPhone, especially when compared to the connectivity of Sprint versus the AT&T network.

The long and short of it is this: the Palm Pre and webOS are the first real challengers to the iPhone’s innovative approach to a mobile UI and data management. Oh, and yes, it has copy and paste functions (triggered by holding down your thumb on the gesture area and selecting your text with another finger).

CNET rates this phone with 3 1/2 stars  on the editor rating and 4 stars on the users rating.  This is a great smartphone will all of the goodies.  The only issues are that it lacks 3G support and it can be somewhat sluggish to operate.  T-Mobile also offers this phone as well.
